Voice from Paulsgrove

Paulsgrove is one of the largest and newest districts of the City of Portsmouth. This illustrated booklet tells something of its history, based on the memories of some of those that live or work there. Many of the extracts from their interviews which appear in the booklet deal with the sort of subjects and information that never get written down and for which no formal record may ever have been made - what it really felt like to live there, what people thought of their new homes, how it has changed since the 1950s.

The booklet is based on an oral history project run jointly by Portsmouth Museums and Records Service, University of Portsmouth and Portsmouth Royal Dockyard Historical Trust and was supported by The Heritage Lottery Fund.
